Jim Bixler currently serves as the Director of Clinical Services of Paraclaysis, Inc., a non-profit organization in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jim is licensed in Colorado as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As of March 2018, he has conducted approximately 18,300 hours of individual, couple, and family therapy over the previous 21 years. He is also certified as an Approved Supervisor of other counselors through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Education
In 1977 Jim was commissioned as a 1 Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves. He served in the Army Reserves until his entry on Active Duty in 1986. While on active duty he served in Infantry, Armor, Artillery, and Aviation units. He also served as a brigade staff officer, a Service School Instructor, a division staff officer, and as an installation resource for soldiers and their family members, Chaplains, units, and other helping agencies regarding family and life issues while assigned to Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Carson, Colorado.
He retired from active duty in 2005. He now lives in Colorado Springs and serves the local community.
